Is This Money Therapy?

Money Therapy by Ilana Jankowitz

Is This Money Therapy?

A clear answer for high-achieving women who earn well but still don’t feel safe with money — and aren’t sure whether what they need is a coach, a therapist, or a financial adviser.

What Money Therapy is

Money Therapy is a non-clinical, therapy-informed coaching practice for women who earn well but still don’t feel safe with money. It uses the Inside-Out Money Therapy Method — Certified Money Coach (CMC) methodology blended with NLP and money-archetype work — to help you rewrite inherited patterns and make calm, confident money decisions. It is not psychotherapy. It is not financial advice. It is the inner work that makes the outer numbers feel safe.

Who Money Therapy is for

Money Therapy is most useful when:

  • You earn well — sometimes very well — but still feel anxious, guilty, avoidant, or unsafe with money.
  • You’ve read the books, tried the budgets, watched the YouTube videos — and the spreadsheet still doesn’t fix the feeling.
  • You sense that some of what you carry around money came from your family, your culture, or earlier experiences — not from you.
  • You want a calmer, clearer, more grounded relationship with money, not just better numbers.
  • You’re not in crisis. You’re not seeking a diagnosis. You want to do the inner work alongside the outer life you’re already building.

Who Money Therapy is NOT for

Money Therapy is not suitable if:

  • You are in acute psychological crisis, active untreated addiction, or active mental-health treatment where your clinician has not cleared parallel coaching. Please work with a licensed psychotherapist or contact your local emergency service.
  • You need regulated financial advice — investment recommendations, pension planning, tax strategy, insurance products. Please consult a FINMA-regulated practitioner. (Ilana will tell you on the breakthrough call if that’s what you actually need.)
  • You’re looking for a quick fix or a productivity hack. This is reflective inner work — it takes time, and it works precisely because it does.

What happens in a session

Sessions are 60-90 minutes, in person in Zurich or online. We work with whatever is most alive for you — a money decision you’re avoiding, a recurring pattern, a feeling that won’t go away, an inherited story you’ve started to notice. Ilana uses CMC frameworks, money archetypes, NLP-informed reframing, and felt-safety practices to help you understand what’s actually happening underneath the money behaviour, and to write a different next chapter.

You’ll usually leave a session knowing something you didn’t know an hour ago — not as advice, but as your own understanding.

Frequently asked

Are you a therapist or a coach?

Both. I am a Money Therapist and a Certified Money & Mindset Coach. The work is the same; the lens differs. I am not a licensed psychotherapist or psychologist as those professions are regulated under the Swiss Federal Psychology Professions Act (PsyG) and the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI).

Is Money Therapy the same as psychotherapy?

No. Psychotherapy is a regulated clinical practice that diagnoses and treats mental-health conditions. Money Therapy is non-clinical coaching that works with inherited patterns, archetypes, and felt-safety using CMC, NLP, and the Inside-Out Money Therapy Method. If clinical care is needed, I will refer you to a licensed psychotherapist.

Is Money Coaching financial advice?

No. I do not advise on investments, tax planning, pensions, insurance products, or regulated securities. For those needs you should work with a FINMA-regulated adviser. Money Therapy is the inner work that helps you make calm, confident decisions inside the financial life you (or your adviser) are already building.

How do I know which one I need?

The breakthrough call. If what you actually need is a clinician or a financial adviser, I’ll tell you on that call and point you to where you’ll be best served. There’s no obligation either way.
